Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays.
~Chocolate Glazed HEARTS filled with PINK Marshmallow Creme~
How yuMMy does that sound?
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
6 ounces semi~sweet chocolate
1/2 ounce unsweetened chocolate
Here's what you need to make the PINK Marshmallow Creme:
1/2 cup {1 stick} unsalted butter (room temperature)
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup marshmallow creme
PINK food coloring

Begin by making the Chocolate Cookie dough.
In a medium size bowl sift together flour~cocoa powder~baking powder~and salt.
Using an electric mixer, beat sugar with shortening until creamy.

Using an electric mixer, beat sugar with shortening until creamy.
Beat in eggs and milk.
Gradually add flour~COCOA mix.
Beat as much as you can...with the mixer.
Stir in any remainder flour mixture.
Divide the cookie dough into 2 parts. Cover and chill dough for 2 hours or more.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Roll the dough out on lightly floured surface.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter~cut the dough.
Place cut out cookies on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake 7-8 minutes until firm.
Transfer cookies to wire rack and cool.
Now it's time to make the Dark Chocolate Glaze.
Measure the chocolate.
Place chocolate in a microwave safe bowl.
Add the oil to the chocolate.
Pop the bowl in the microwave. Set the microwave for 30 seconds. Continue to
microwave the bowl of chocolate stirring in between 30 second intervals of heating.
Keep it stirred or it will burn.
You can also melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
Sit chocolate glaze aside to cool.
Now for the filling~
Sift the powdered sugar.
Cream together butter~powdered sugar~and vanilla.
Add marshmallow creme and continue to whip with an electric mixer.
Add just a splash of milk.
Add about 4 big drops of PINK food color.
Whip the frosting one more time.
Are you lovin' that PINK~puffy bowl of marshmallow heaven?
Now you're going to glaze 1/2 the cookies.
Use the back of a small spoon to glaze the cookies.
Sprinkle as you like.
Let the chocolate set.
Ice the remaining cookies with marshmallow creme.
Top the iced cookie off with a chocolate glazed cookie.
There you have it.
